This will hopefully become a place to find out what’s going on in Ward 3!

What’s happening in Ward 3!

  • Community Effort to prevent Annexation.

Forget the politicians. Local Oro-Medonte citizens rallies together to help make the case to Keep Oro-Medonte, ORO-MEDONTE.

While there will be continued pressure from our Neighbours to the north and south. It’s important for all our elected officials to understand the voice and preference of the people that charged us with making tough decisions.

What’s been presented by The City of Barrie is not an example of good land use planning, and the residents of Oro-Medonte used a good ole fashion petition to make sure their concerns were heard.

  • Shanty Bay AED Fundraiser

This is a fundraiser to have Two 24 / 7 hour public access outdoor save stations installed in the Shanty bay Neighbourhood. So far over $9,500 has been raised out of a needed $12,000.

You can contribute a couple of different ways, Etransfer: Donate2stsb@gmail.com or feel free to drop cash or cheque donations off to the St. Thomas Church. Tax receipts are available and if you donate a minimum of $1000 you can add a memorium in honour of a loved one or have your company name/logo on the accompanying plaque.

A huge thanks for Michelle, Davina, Trish, and Deb for helping to organize this great initiative for the community!

    **** Update ****
“Unfortunately due to an error in calculations we have had to raise the donation amount to $15,000 to accommodate the taxes and the installation of the electric panel for the AED. We continue to appreciate all donations from our community and will keep you all posed on the progress of the fundraiser” - the fundraising committee.
